Earthquake engineering solutions

The experience of Betsinor Composites in geographical areas exposed to high seismic risks has led the company to develop façade claddings that have become performance benchmarks. Two good examples of this exist in Egypt: the geodesic dome of the new Great Library in Alexandria and the Control Tower of Sharm el-Sheikh airport. Developed by the Engineering Department, these earthquake resistant solutions rely on the design of fixings that can withstand the seismic strains resulting from earthquakes, which are spread from top to bottom of the cladding.

This solution has been tested by the French Building and Construction Research Establishment (the CSTB), which used a platform that realistically reproduced seismic effects. These tests were successful and bear witness to the stability of the architectural parts produced by Betsinor Composites for buildings in areas exposed to seismic risks.
